Waypoint Properties

1. Ident

Waypoints have an ident of up to five letters and numbers.   Airport Design Editor offers a dummy ident (WPA) you need to change this and ensure that it is not the same as another waypoint associated with the airport otherwise there will be a compiler error.

2. Type

Although there are a range of types in FSX only two are used throughout the default FS world:   NAMED and UNNAMED.   Even this distinction seems to be erratic and overall the Type does not appear to be used for anything in the Sim.   The rationale behind NAMED and UNNAMED is that if you can speak it (ATOFF) then it is NAMED but if you can't (A1234) then it is UNNAMED.   You may pick another type if you think it will help your understanding of your airport but as mentioned above FSX does not seem to care.

3. Magnetic Variation

Airport Design Editor will determined the magnetic variation based on the airport value. You should not change this unless you know via some published data that the value selected by ADE is not correct.

4. Region ID

Airport Design Editor will determine the Region ID for you.   It uses an algorithm that should be correct so only change this if you know that it has picked the wrong one!
