Airport List

Airport List

The airport list contains all the stock airports in FSX and is used to find one and load it into ADE.

1. Search For

The search facilities are all based on searching for a piece of text.   Select which part of the airport information you want to search on here.   If you know the ICAO then the quickest way is to enter it in the find box.   Alternatively you can search for the airport name of city.   ADE accepts partial find text so if you do not know all of the word or ICAO then enter the bit that you do know.

2. Search Type

  • Contains will try to match the find text in any part of the search field

  • Starts With will only match if the find text is a the start.

3. Find Now

Once you have entered your find text you can either click this or just hit the Enter Key while in the Find text box.   Any matches will be listed below

4. Airport Tree

Contains a list of all countries, cities and airport that are included in the stock FSX files.   You can navigate through this until you find the airport that you want.   Then select it and either double click or use the Enter Key to have Airport Design Editor load the airport.

5. Found List

All matches will be listed here.   Select one and either double click or hit the Enter Key to have ADE load the airport.   It there are no matches then check your search string and other criteria and try again.   Note that this finds stock airports and not third party or user created airports.

6. Airport File Info.

These fields will tell you the folder and file where the airport is stored.

7. Cancel

If you change you mind just hit Cancel.   This dialog should close after an airport is loaded but sometimes it does not.   If it is still about then click this to close it.   If you have already loaded your airport then clicking Cancel will have no effect on it.
