Property Dialog

All Editing of airport elements is done through the Property Dialog.   It has a common look and feel and the location and comments group is common to all elements.

1. Locked

You may wish to lock and object to stop it from being accidentally moved or deleted.   Locking is usually done via the Right Click Menu but it can be done by checking this box.

2. Property Tabs

Depending on the element being edited there may be several property tabs.   In this example we are looking at runway properties and there are six tabs of information in all.

3. Specific Properties

This area contains the properties specific to the element being edited.

4. Altitude

The altitude of the object.   Altitude is only accessible for those objects that it makes sense to change the altitude for.   In FSX the airport has to be flat so most elements will have an altitude that is the same are the airport reference altitude.

5. Coordinates

The latitude and longitude of the object.   This is usually locked.   With Airport Design Editor the usual way to set the location is to use the mouse pointer.   However in some cases you may wish to set the coordinates precisely based on some published value.   In this case use the Edit button to make the values accessible to be changed.   Make sure that you enter the data in the data format you have set for coordinates.

6. Heading

Heading of the object.   Generally you can change this value here for elements that have a heading.   The other way to set heading is to drag the Handle.

7. Edit

Click this to edit the coordinate values by hand

8. OK

Click this to save changes.

9. Cancel

Click this to Cancel the Edit.   Note that if you are adding an object then clicking Cancel will cancel the Add.

10. <TODO: Control Name>

<TODO> Insert description text here... And don't forget to add keyword for this topic

11. Location Properties

This area is common to all airport objects.   The specific properties shown will depend on the object.   For example there is no location information for an Apron.
