To make it easier to work   on the airport you may want to turn off or on some of the displayed elements.   The View menu is used to determine which elements will be shown.

3. Lock Menu

Once you have laid out the main ground elements of an airport such as runways and aprons you may want to make sure that they cannot accidently be mored or deleted.   It is possible to lock individual elements but you can also lock all runways or aprons via this menu.

4. Lists Menu

As well as the plan view of the airport Airport Design Editor provides a List view of all the main elements that comprise the airport.

5. Tools Menu

Airport Design Editor provides a range of tools such as Fault Finders and Object Managers that are accessed from here.

6. Program Settings

Set you program and color setting preferences via this menu.

7. Scenery Complexity

Scenery objects in FSX have a 'complexity' setting that determine whether they are displayed or not.   Users set this in FSX and it affects all the Flight Sim World scenery objects equally.     This control can be set to match the setting in FSX.   You will then see the same objects that will display in FSX.   It is important to use the Extremely Dense setting when designing and airport.   This will ensure that all objects are visible both in FSX and ADE.

When the airport is being tested you can change the settings in ADE and FSX to see how your airport will look at different user settings

8. Help Menu

Access Help and About from here.

9. Edit Menu

Airport Design Editor provides extensive undo and redo facilities.   There are several ways to acces these including via the Edit menu
