Databases

Airport Design Editor makes use of several databases of information from FSX - airports, navigation aids and scenery objects.   These are collected from your FSX installation and this step is very important.   If ADE cannot find a database it needs it will tell you and ask you to scan FSX again.   This will only need to be done once unless something happens to a database.   Be sure to wait until the scan is completed before moving on.   It may take several minutes to complete
