Requirements

Before using Airport Design Editor you need to be sure that   you have all the pre requirements in place.

  • Flight Simulator X   deluxe Edition.   ADE needs FSX to be present if you want to connect to it and use the user aircraft information to assist in design work

  • The   FSX SDK that comes only with the deluxe Edition.     The SDE is not installed automatically when you install FSX so if the Environment Checker (see below) cannot find BglComp then open your DVD, find the SDK installer and install it.   Please note that the version of the SDK on the DVD has a fault which causes the compile to fail on boundary fences.   After installation of the original SDK you must visit FSInsider and get at least SDK SP1a.

  • MSXML 4 at minimum.   This should be present on your computer but it is required by the compiler

  • Microsoft dotNET Framework version 2.0.

ADE Environment Checker

This is a good way to check you computer to see if you have everything in place to run ADE .   The Environment Checker was introduced in version 1.21 and   will be found in the Airport Design Editor program group in Start > All Programs.   If you have everything that is needed then the result should look like this:

If you find that some elements are missing then you will need to correct these before using Airport Design Editor.   Note that this does not guarantee that the program will run successfully on your computer.   In some cases we have found failures due to interactions with other applications such as virus checkers and firewalls.   If you have an installation problem then please run the Checker before contacting us.   also it is a good idea to   get a hard copy report of the output and let us have it.
